Post After Eternity, And BlazBlue!

•September 2, 2008 • Leave a Comment

Sorry guys, I have been real real REAL busy with life, and haven’t had time to update this blog. I apologize, I will try to start updating a more often!

So anyway, I’ve been very much into BlazBlue lately. In case you don’t know, BlazBlue is a 2d traditional fighter by the makers of the Guilty Gear series. It looks really fun, and I’ve already decided who I want to use! =D

Here are some links, because I don’t feel like explaining:

Busy Busy Me, Yet Another Anime, and A Song by Jyukai

•July 28, 2008 • 1 Comment

Yes yes, I am very busy, and have not been able to post on here a lot~ <_<;

But I will perservere! I do have a lot of material to post I just have to find an open space of time where I can sit down and write for a while.

And speaking of material, I have found yet another anime that I’d like to watch and review. Here is it’s ANN page.

Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto: Natsu no Sora

Looks very interesting indeed. And Ureshii is subbing it, so I know if the anime isn’t that great, the subs will be! :D

Right, so, I should be able to finish Mnemosyne tomorrow, or sometime this week (it is only 6 episodes, to my dismay) and be able to gather my thoughts on it and right a review by the weekend. We will see though, because as I said, I am busy.

Well, I’ll finish this post off with a song by 樹海 (Jyukai) called ハナムケのメロディ (or Hanamuke no Melody). I have been listening to it a lot recently, and it’s a very pretty song. :3 Have a listen! And make sure you watch it in high quality!

New Animes, More Real Drive, and an Unsuccessful Scrim Practice.

•July 18, 2008 • 1 Comment

*sigh*

So today was my third scrim practice with my TF2 clan, Ego Electus Exodus. Unfortunately, it did not go as well as the other two, and many people were upset. Hopefully the next one will be more organized and improved.

As for anime, I have found two new ones that I’d like to watch and possibly review. Here are their ANN pages.

Mnemosyne – Mnemosyne no Musume-tachi

Kaiba

The first is apparently full of gore, sex, and beautiful women. Sounds good, amirite? I am watching the second simply because it’s description is very enigmatic. I really don’t know what to expect, but I hope what I get blows me away.

Real Drive is currently being subbed by Ureshii Fansubs. Unfortunately, however good the subs are, the subbers are a bit slow. I understand they are very busy with a lot of projects and can only do so much with a limited staff. So, for now, I am stuck waiting for Real Drive episode 9 and the episodes that follow.

So!~ That’s about 4 reviews on the way: Dennou Coil, Real Drive, Kaiba, and Mnemosyne. We’ll see how everything works out!~

Real Drive, Last Alliance, and other stuff.

•July 15, 2008 • Leave a Comment

So, I’ve been watching Real Drive, and I must say it’s really good. It’s got an interesting storyline, great characters, incredible animation, and a rockin’ OP and ED. I decided to review the whole thing, instead of just watching episodes 1-9 and reviewing those.

The ED for Real Drive is probably one of the better J-rock songs I’ve heard. It’s called 片膝の汚れ (or Katahiza no Yogore), performed by Last Alliance on their new single Always In My Heart. My oh my does this song rock. I never thought I’d like melodic punk so much~ :D

Anyway, for your viewing and listening pleasure, here is the PV for Katahiza no Yogore. In HD! Nevermind, I can’t get the HD tag to work for the video embed. :(

Also, I’m going to my anime club’s Anime Night on Friday!~

It should be really fun. I’m bringing episodes 1-9 of Gurren Lagaan, and also my Wii plus Brawl.

I can’t wait!~

New Header!

•July 14, 2008 • Leave a Comment

Just had to make a post about it. :3

So, as you can see, I have a new header up, complete with Yoko from Gurren Lagaan on the left and a sort of logo on the right. This will probably change a lot, but I like the way this one looks now, so I’m gonna keep it~

Ideas For First Review

•July 14, 2008 • Leave a Comment

Ugh~

Slow day~

Anyway, I was thinking I’ll do Real Drive for my first anime review. Originally, the plan was to start this blog and then review Dennou Coil right after I finished it, but I got caught up in the chaos that is Anime Expo. After Real Drive, I’ll probably rewatch Dennou Coil and review it, because there’s nothing that looks good in the upcoming months. However, I have picked out 2 that I’d like to watch. They are both released in the month of October, and I think what attracted me the most was the animation.

I’m a sucker for good animation~

Here are the links to their Anime News Network pages:

Kannagi: Crazy Shrine Maidens

Michiko to Hatchin

I think I’m going to like the first one a lot! :D

Well, that’s it for today. I’ll begin watching Real Drive tomorrow, and if all goes well, will have a review of the first few episodes by the end of this week.

Hi!~

•July 11, 2008 • Leave a Comment

I’m assuming nobody will read this first post, but I will include my short bio and an explanation of what I hope to accomplish in this blog anyway.

Ahem~

Hello there blog world, I am known as GenRancour, but people usually just call me Gen, Rancour, or whatever they can come up with. I absolutely love anime, and it consumes most of my life (hence, The Avid Otaku), but I have other various interests as well. For one, I am really into PC gaming, especially Valve-produced games such as Team Fortress 2, Day of Defeat:Source, and others. I will provide my SteamID along with all my other contact info at the end of this post.

As for the purpose of this blog, I have a few things in mind. I will be including reviews of various anime of my choice (I will probably take requests once this gets off the ground) and perhaps provide short reviews of games, especially ones that are anime-themed. If all goes well, I may even start reviewing albums and things of that sort from Japan. And, providing I can actually participate, I will be covering events and panels at anime and game conventions, mainly Anime Expo and E For All.

So, that’s about it for my goals and such. I can only hope everything goes well for my little blog~
